Frequently Asked Questions

Q

Why should I attend this program?

A

There is a saying that goes "success is 20% mechanics and 80% psychology". If you wish to perform successfully as a first aider, whether at work, indoor organization or at home, you need to be psychologically at your best. There is no first aid program out there that has the capacity to do this - yet most first aiders come out from a first aid course and are expected to perform in the real world. That's tough. Really tough.

When you attend My True Hero, you will be provided with the environment and platform to be able to put your abilities to deal with real life challenges to the test. We know exactly what you need to learn, because we have gone through it ourselves.

On top of that, you will receive lots of valuable insights and guidance from our facilitators, who themselves have experienced performing first aid in real life cases. My True Hero program is exclusive to us, so it is the only place in the world where you can learn and develop your first aid crisis handling skills.

Q

Is this program just another motivational course?

A

There are programs offered out that give that feel-good "pep rally" experience. However, have you ever left a program feeling motivated, but realize some time later you are back at square one?

My True Hero does contain some elements of motivation, but those are just the plus points. The program's objective is for you to participate, learn and practice the techniques and tactics used in this programs that you are ready to apply them in the real world. You will walk out not just motivated, but with all the tools and skills to be ready and confident to manage emergencies.

Q

How is this program different from other crisis management programs out there?

A

Firstly, this program is designed in a way so that your learning is experiential and memorable. Although the content may have similarities with programs out there, the methodology, activities and exercises are unique to us and we assure that you will benefit from this learning experience.

On top of that, My True Hero is backed up by over 70 years of on-the-road experience from our 10 paramedical, nursing and doctor facilitators. We only give you what we know works in the real world, and nothing less.

Q

Can I bring a friend along?

A

We strongly encourage you to bring a colleague or a loved one to partner up with you. You will find this a huge benefit! Why? Because first of all, they may require these skills as well. Even if they have no first aid experience. at least they can learn how to perform CPR with us during My True Hero.

Secondly, they can be your accountability partner and you can both work together once you are back from the program. This provides an amazing synergistic effect. You will meet lots of friends at the program, many of which will stay friends with you through, but having a close one with you at the program will definitely help you move forward a lot quicker.

Q

I have attended a first aid course. is this program necessary?

A

You will not have to attend this program if you are
  • Totally cool facing screaming, panicking crowds
  • Have no difficulty dealing with blood and broken bones
  • Never felt anxious before under and kind of stressful circumstances
  • Have not experienced a mental block, exam block, or stage fright before
  • Totally and sincerely believe that you will perform professionally, expertly and confidently in any given emergency situation
Otherwise, the answer is YES. We have trained first aiders who had real life experiences before attending the program and they still find gaps for improvement. You will find the experience not only exhilarating but also highly fulfilling and enriching.

Q

Can I get info from this program through books?

A

You can get some of the info from books, but it will not be anything like the program itself as most of the learning at the My True Hero program comes from the back-to-back activities that have been arranged for you. There is a lot of learning about yourself in class and finding ways to improve on yourself. Plus, our facilitators are around to provide you with feedback.
